Massachusetts Society of Journalism
Pro Republica Aedificamus — We Build for the Republic
About the Society
The Massachusetts Society of Journalism is a patron-funded institution operating ten publications that span the full geography of American journalism, from hyperlocal town coverage to national affairs. Every publication maintains editorial independence, a distinct voice, and a defined audience, yet all draw from a shared investigative infrastructure that no single local paper could sustain alone. The Society exists because the commercial model that once sustained community journalism has been systematically dismantled by extractive private equity ownership, leaving American communities without the information they require to govern themselves. We are the replacement architecture.

Membership
The Society is funded by its members, not by advertisers, not by venture capital, and not by the extractive forces that destroyed the newspapers we are replacing. Five membership tiers provide escalating access and institutional recognition, beginning at five dollars per month. Every dollar funds journalism that serves the Republic.
Become a MemberContribute
The Society accepts applications from journalists, investigators, researchers, and writers who share the institutional commitment to factual, pro-Republic journalism. Contributors begin at the free tier and advance through demonstrated excellence. The contributor pipeline is the mechanism by which new voices enter the institution.
